At its sites in Griesheim (city Frankfurt a.M.) and Gundelfingen (district Dillingen, Bavaria) PQ Energy lays the ground to realize modern reserve power plants, also known as “besondere netztechnische Betriebsmittel” (“bnBm”, special network equipment):
- In the industrial park of Griesheim, PQ Energy plans a gas-fired power plant with a capacity of up to 600 MW. The project is located south of German transmission bottlenecks. Furthermore, the project is situated in the mids of important load centers such as Darmstadt, Frankfurt, Karlsruhe, Schweinfurt, and Würzburg. Power and gas network interconnections are relatively short.
- In Gundelfingen PQ Energy plans a gas-fired power plant of up to 1,200 MW. The site is located adjacent to the nuclear power plant of Gundremmingen and in sight of one of the most important transmission nodal points in Southern Germany. The project is situated in the midst of important load centers such as Munich, Nuremberg, and Stuttgart.
